Testimonials

"My first year as a doctor left me overworked, overwrought, and seriously disillusioned. Thoughts of a working day that ended before 11pm, and the chance to do a bit more kayaking prompted an investigation into working abroad. This led me Antipodean Recruitment and the wonderful and resourceful Kerrie Dudley. Our first conversation was friendly and informal. In her vast experience placing UK and Irish doctors in NZ and Aus, Kerrie had an easy grasp of exactly what I was looking for work wise. From the first instance I was impressed with the open professionalism of all the staff at Antipodean. The whole application and visa process went very smoothly. Without a doubt, the efficiency and practicality of the Antipodean team enabled such a hassle free transition. I've spent six months working in Timaru Public Hospital, in south Canterbury, NZ. It is a 131 bedded hospital, caring for a population of about 55,000. The medical team consists of the junior doctor and the Consultant Physician. Therefore, the opportunity to learn is immense, regarding both patient management and procedures. As a house surgeon here you have the supervision you require while at the same time the autonomy and responsibility to make you feel a lot less like a paperpusher. The HR department is aware that doctors come to NZ for the lifestyle. Annual leave and holidays are rarely an issue, and the hospital is extremely amenable to individual requests of the doctors. Timaru itself is a beautiful spot. The turquoise ocean meets the snowcapped mountains, and ski fields, hot springs, rivers are all within easy reach. It is really all about the outside life here. That said there are great pubs, restaurants and a lovely little cocktail bar…and much more affordable! Of course, Christchurch and Dunedin is only a two hour drive is you fancy a city break. Initially, the decision to take a year out and work in NZ was more about a brief sabbatical from the hard graft of medicine at home. However, the reasonable working hours, a fun and active lifestyle made the decision to stay, quite simple."

"Kerrie from Antipodean Medical was absolutely fantastic in arranging a
medical registrar job for me here in beautiful Tauranga. We had been
involved with a few recruitment agencies but Antipodean was by far the
most impressive and did the most work for my wife and I, with more job
offers and more choice than with other agencies. Despite travelling
through China and Japan I was able to keep in contact through email
and phone to keep abreast of job offers and opportunities. We had a
good choice of possible jobs and locations. Kerrie was invaluable when
it came to discussion of the pros and cons of particular locations,
with good knowledge of the amenities and attractions of each location.
She also arranged for a phone interview which was I took whilst in a
hotel in China! As I was travelling with my wife, Kerrie ensured that
we had accomodation arranged prior to our arrival and even had a phone
sim card sent to us! She was readily available for all questions and
queries, and always replied promptly to all emails.
Thank you Kerrie for organising everything so efficiently, our NZ
experience has been and continues to be everything we hoped for. I
highly recommend Antipodean Medical to anyone considering working in
NZ or Australia." Sincerely, Darragh

"It is with great pleasure that I recommend Antipodean for your recuiting needs. Kerrie Dudley’s open communication skills, makes her approachable on all levels. Travelling to a foreign country for work can take a task team to organize. Kerrie is a one woman task team. She is well travelled herself personally that only enhances her knowledge of the immigration policies and explains why her connections are so vast.

Kerrie took a pragmatic approach towards finding me the right match for my training. She asked questions concerning what I wanted from a training hospital and what I needed from the city in which I was to live, and that perfect match was Timaru. She was instrumental in my transition to New Zealand from the States. The paperwork can be daunting to say the least and with her assistance I flew through it all. In one afternoon, my visa was organized, my medical license was procured, and I was happily moved to New Zealand.

I highly recommend Kerrie Dudley and Antipodean for all your medical recruiting needs."
